Do anorexics lose weight faster then people who eat right and exercise?

People who abuse drugs and don’t eat or people who are just anorexic seem to lose weight so much faster then people who eat right and exercise.

Of course it’s sooo much more unhealthy. Why does this happen?

People who just rarely ever eat seem to get skinny so much faster.

They loose weight because the body starts eating the nutrients and calories found in the body since it is getting no food.

because they arent eating anything to gain weight and if they do eat they just puke it back up

They lose a great deal of muscle weight and muscle weighs more than fat does. Your body can use either one for energy, but prefers carbohydrates, then fat, then protein. When you are not eating right and not exercising, your body has no other choice but to break down fat and muscle to get the amino acids it needs to survive.

Also, your body hits a certain point where it goes into a starvation mode and can live on fewer calories. Eventually you suffer from nutrient deficiencies and can lose your hair, your teeth, women’s menstrual cycles stop and you end up in the hospital. Be anorexic long enough and you end up dead.

because they have no calary intake, they also die also faster too so its so not the way to go,the acid in the stomach has no work to do either and many anorexics teeth are discoloured and stained from the acid left to its own devices thats not a desired look either

Well one would assume that since anorexics eat less that they would lose more fat than a person who eats more and exercises. However, the problem with being anorexic is that it does not put your body in a conducive state to lose weight. Your body’s metabolism slows down incredibly, since its energy requirements are not being met. You are constantly in a caloric-deficeit. Thus, your body will eventually go into starvation mode, thus storing most of its nutrients as fat in order to survive. Hence a person who is 5’2″ 95lbs and all bones may actually have a higher body fat percentage than a person who is 5’2″ 120lbs, but muscular. In the end, if you want to lose weight, I recommend eating 6 to 7 small meals a day and exercising. You should aim for a 250-500 calorie deficeit per day in order to lose weight at a healthy pace.

    Hi Liz,

Your question kinda scares me! Are you wanting to lose weight and am just not sure about which way to go? If this is the case, then do NOT go anorexic. It is extremely bad on your body.

The right way to lose weight is to exercise, eat healthy, and sleep. Their are tricks of the trade, but there is no backdoor to healthy weight loss with anorexia.

because a “normal” person eats more calories than they burn.

Anorexics normally burn more calories than they consume.
