Applesauce Cinnamon Gelatin Salad

Hmm, now I am not to sure about this recipe and how it sounds. I thought I would throw this out there to the more adventurous people out there. I love all the ingredients but the thing that is throwing me off is the cinnamon candies in it. So if you do try this gelatin salad, come back and tell me how it tastes.

INGREDIENTS

1/3 cup cinnamon red hot candies
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 (3 ounce) package lemon flavored gelatin mix
1 1/2 cups applesauce

DIRECTIONS

In a large bowl, dissolve candies in boiling water. Add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Stir in applesauce and a few ice cubes and chill for 3 hours, or until set. Serve cold with whipped cream.
