25South Beach Diet Granola Bar
0 comments
Yesterday in the mail I received the new South Beach Diet Sweet Nut Creations Roasted Peanut granola bar. I got it as a free sample on their site. I was a bit skeptical of this bar since I have never tried any of the South Beach Diet foods before but I have tried other diet bars and they left a lot to be desired.
What I first noticed before opening the packaging was how soft the granola bar was. Even in the packaging you could pinch the bar and feel it give under the pressure, I like soft bars. Opening the bar I noticed that there was an outer layer of peanut butter on the bottom of it. As a peanut butter lover I was thrilled. The smell was delicious as well. You could see the peanuts on top had a nice glaze and the peanut butter on the bottom was soft and smelled wonderful.
My first bite into the bar was like tasting a delicious treat that you think you are not supposed to be having. It was soft to chew and bite into and the flavors of the peanuts and the peanut butter explodes in your mouth. The only complaint about the granola bar is there wasn't enough!! Okay, that's just my greedy food demon saying that, but this is a snack that is fantastic and will fill you up with all the nuts and peanut butter.
The snack size is perfect and for only 150 calories you won't be thrown off any calorie counting plans. I was also surprised that there is 6g of protein in this little bar.
Would I buy this bar? Definitely. This is actually better than a lot of candy bars in my opinion.

21Canned Asparagus
A lot of people will agree that fresh fruits and vegetables taste a lot better than frozen and canned vegetables. With certain fruits and vegetables you can tell the difference but with others you really cannot. I use canned asparagus when I want some asparagus to go with my meal. The asparagus is packed in with juices and vitamins and really tastes no different to fresh asparagus. Why do I choose canned over fresh? Easily because there is no fresh asparagus around for me to buy. Also, the canned is only $1.65 at my local dollar general. For 12 spears in a serving you get 30 calories. There are three and a half servings in this can that I buy. If I wanted to eat the whole can in one sitting the most calories I am looking at is 105 calories.
Asparagus is good cold or hot and goes will with just about anything. If you want to reach for a bundle of asparagus in the store and are finding it too expensive, try the canned sections. You get the almost same nutrients as fresh and you get to enjoy it for a cheaper cost.
