Fried Chicken Recipe: Healthy, Gluten Free, Cooking by Food Smarty Austin

Fried Chicken Recipe: Healthy, Gluten Free, Cooking by Food Smarty Austin In this video Celina shows you how to make a healthier version of everyone’s favorite dish—fried chicken! This delicious recipe uses tapioca flour (which has anti-inflammatory properties) and garbonzo flour which is high in protein. Even if you are not allergic to gluten, this recipe is much healthier and incredibly tasty! Like most of Celina’s cooking, this recipe is also gluten-free. Ingredients: 4 organic eggs* 1 cup garbonzo flour 1 cup tapioca flour ½ cup brown rice flour Organic coconut oil Spices and salt (optional) Bone in split chicken breasts and legs * May substitute eggs for ¼ cup ground flaxseed + ¾ cup water Recipe: – Whisk 4 eggs in a large bowl – In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients. – Dip chicken in eggs, then into the dry mixture (repeat optional) – Make sure to heat your coconut to a sufficient heat before adding chicken. After the 2nd batch, you’ll probably need to bring the temperature down as the oil will get too hot. Foodsmarty Celina Jean, has a passion for very healthy food. 3. komokujin

@persephone517 I think it’s for people who are alergic to eggs.

  4. capman911

Chicken coated in a egg wash with regular salt, pepper and flour fried in Crisco oil with mashed potatoes and gravy made from the chicken drippings and big bowl of butter beans cooked in real butter with home made buttermilk biscuits, now that is an artery clogging high cholesterol high blood pressure meal. I have eaten this for 30 years every Sunday and if I die tomorrow I will die a well feed happy man.

  5. wmattfisher

Blasphemy!!! Fried chicken isn’t supposed to be healthy. . .it’s supposed to be good nad fattening!! Next you’ll be trying to sell us on “healthy soy-bacon” or “low-fat fatback” Ridiculous and Absurd. They’re nothing wrong with enjoying a high fat/tasty meal. . .worthless neo-hippies

  6. InAProverbialSense

Aside from the fact that “Smarty” isn’t smart enough to grasp the simple concept of veganism, the “leave out the salt if you have high blood pressure” idiocy was my favorite moronic statement in this video. I’m pretty sure that someone concerned enough about their high blood pressure to not eat salt also wouldn’t eat fried chicken.

  7. InAProverbialSense

@Gnostic279 Vegetarians eat eggs. Vegans do not. I’m vegan, I should know.

  8. freebrook

make this recipe VEGAN??!?!?! …real smart, smartie

  9. bluemoongirl484

even substituting the eggs, it wouldn’t be vegan, there’s still chicken

  10. wastemgmt07

I’ve seen enough……. I appreciate her efforts, but this is complete bullshit. I ask you where do you buy these ingredients?. Go to your local grocer and spend the cash for this stuff…complete bullshit. This is a stupid useless non-cost effective recipe. If you’re gonna eat fried chicken, eat the real thing. Just don’t eat it every damn day.

  11. running90away

wtf? why would you want to make vegan fried chicken coating. VEGANS DONT EAT MEAT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

but I did enjoy your video, and you’re right, it’s a LOT better to do that then get fried chicken from KFC :) I’m sure this will be useful to a lot of people. I’m definitely adding the coating recipe to my recipee book!! Vegans can substitute chicken for some seitan I guess. Thank you!!

    @frankylovesyall
That’s true. I’m a black man and this video has two of my favorite things in it. Fried Chicken and a sexy white womon. LOL.

  14. Nikkeftw

@ZarajosyGallinejas Heated they both useless and not healthy. Cold pressed and consumed as they are, they are both extremly healthy in each way. Non of them is better than the other.

  15. yertybert

“substitute flax and water for egg to make it vegan” your cooking chickens , hello?! to consider this “healthy” is to consider smoking? cigarettes healthy, as long as you smoke less than you are now.. its a step up from kfc i guess?

  16. gingowitch

@edmondov hell no, the next time i listen to a stoopid scientist will be never – scientists r stoopid and knowingly and willingly tell lies in order to harm people. they are the priests of satan and their riitual is to see how much harm they can do without getting caught, kind of like circumcised jews.

  17. edmondov

@gingowitch do you take b12 supplements?

  18. gingowitch

@dorinioanaalexandra you’re hot, where do you live?

i’ve been vegan for a while now, and i feel healthy and fluid and energetic.

  19. dorinioanaalexandra

@gingowitch it’s not the healthiest meal but yet a great choice when it comes to taste yet not that unhealthy

  20. dorinioanaalexandra

@gingowitch maybe your ”best”, not mine or many others, we the rest love our delicious milk, yogurt and eggs

  23. ZarajosyGallinejas

I believe that virgin olive oil is much better than coconut, isn´t it? By the way, vegans don´t eat eggs
