Hand feeding Hummingbirds – Taming The Alaskan Hummingbird

An amazing video showing hummingbirds feeding from our hands. Our luxury lodge in Alaska has TONS of these little birds in the summer. Purchase “the shot” at www.alaskagrand.com. Visit http for more information on the lodge. These little hummingbirds eat right out of our hands here at the lodge. While setting up the cameras for some more handfeeding, these two little hummingbirds gave us “the shot” For people thinking of coming to Alaska, consider a day tour at the lodge if you are coming by cruise ship: www.salterylodge.com Or consider staying at the lodge: www.salterylodge.com.

    Very, very cool. Beautiful shots.

Have to second about the red food coloring below. Plain sugar water is much better for their health and the red dye isn’t necessary.

    LOVELY video & story!!

That red food colouring is bad for the birds, however.
Best to just use sugar water.

this is nothing new. I have done this many times and have pictures of it too. I even have pictures of one sitting on my chest for awhile. He even came back often and seeked me out to say “hi”, I’m guessing. Just be patient and it can happen to you too.
