This is a very inspiring book for those who are interested in enchanting the health conscious eco gourmets. We had the great honour of having the owners of our hip natural/gourmet food store over for dinner the other evening. When we pulled out the mate chocolatte truffles for a light evening desert, they were impressed with the yerba mate chocolate truffle infusion. We’re looking forward to the next enchanting occassion to pull another fine recipe from this book.

I love learning that is joyfull and fun. That is what “Hollywood Dish” added to my life. I am learning new recipes that are awesome. I am filed with new experiences to share with others. Now if that isn’t great value, I don’t know what is! No wonder Chef Akasha is a star. I don’t believe I have ever picked up a cookbook and read it cover to cover, but I did with “Hollywood Dish”! Chef Akasha does a brilliant job giving the reader the unique history of the organic & healthy food industry/movement with a focus on Hollywood. “Hollywood Dish” is packed with health & diet secrets of our most loved actresses (including Mary Pickford Gloria Swanson, Mae West, Joan Crawford & Marilyn Monroe). These women were pioneers & paved the health food way (who knew!?)

But the celebrity and history tidbits are just the icing on the cake. The receipes are so original and delicious…and easy to follow! Plus there are yummy, gourmet receipes for every pallette.

I have a new appreciation for “health food”. This book will reinspire you to cook wonderful, nurturing food for your friends & family that they will surely love (including picky kids). They’ll never think of “health food” in the same way again!

Years ago Akasha Richmond won my heart with The Art Of Tofu. This time she has taken me to a whole new level. Hollywood Dish is a gem. The recipes are inventive yet easy and fun to make. The Vegan Carrot Cake tastes better than the real thing, the Kombucha Squash soup, warm and soothing and the historical stories and anecdotes are so much fun. This is the perfect gift for any foodie or novice alike.

Hats off to Akasha. Hollywood Dish is the real thing.

I was very pleased with how this book flowed. There are great stories of old and new hollywood and the recipes are easy to follow, and there is not one that I have not enjoyed. If I had to pick which recipe I loved the most it would have to be the CINNAMON-RAISIN BREAD, it is just outstanding and no one in your family would be the wiser that they actually are eating healthy. A must buy for anyone!!!
