This is the best lebanese cookbook I’ve seen to date. You know how I know? My mom, the best lebanese cook this side of the atlantic who doesn’t believe in arabic cookbooks, took mine so I had to buy another copy for myself! Trust me, that’s the ultimate form of approval!

The Lebanese Kitchen: Quick & Healthy Recipes
I fell in love with Lebanese food about 15 years ago. I have made a few dishes through the years but always ended up being disappointed. Thank goodness I live in an area with a huge Lebanese community. It makes it easier to just go to one of the many restaurants and order my favorite dishes, that is, until now.
About a year ago I saw this book at the library and took it home. The first thing I made, the Fattoush, FANTASTIC! It tastes exactly like the one at my authentic Lebanese restaurant. As I made each recipe, the same reaction. Delicious. The thoughts of taking my library book back made me crazy. As I went to return it, I couldn’t let it go. I asked the librarian to sign it out again. I ended up doing this for about 5 months. Finally, I thought I would take it back and let someone else enjoy these wonderful recipes.
One month later I returned to the library to take MY book out again. IT WASN’T THERE. It has not shown up to this day. I had to have this book.
I am thrilled to say, I bought The Lebanese Kitchen. Having not had it for about 6 months, I forgot how wonderful it really is. The recipes are all incredible. When you eat the dish you have prepared, it feels like you are eating a home cooked meal in Lebanon. And the photos, MOUTHWATERING. The best thing, there is a photo for each recipe and complete nutritional information. This is a cookbook you MUST have if you like Lebanese food.

The Lebanese Kitchen: Quick & Healthy Recipes
This is a visually beautiful cookbook – one recipe per page, which I like. The recipes look great, and are very similar to what my husband’s family (Lebanese) makes. However, we were surprised to see no lamb, which is very popular in Lebanese cooking.
