what do lake erie bass eat right after the ice melts?
I live in northern PA and right after the ice in lake erie melts, i know that the bass will start to move to the shallower water and feed quite a bit heavier, but what exactly do they eat besides my plastic worms and crankbaits? Do they feed more on small baitfish or crawfish?

Bass are opportunistic and feed on anything available. They will be feeding on things such as; aquatic fly larvae, frogs, flies, minnows, any terrestrials on the water, crayfish and anything else they can eat such as worms. Early in the spring they may be apt to go after larger prey if the forage base of small minnows has been depleted in the winter. They will also eat dead minnows and frogs that had been trapped in the ice and released through melting.
