What are you scared of? Most meats if fully cooked to the correct temperature is safe to eat. As far as diseases and infected meats, the FDA is keeping a very close eye on all meat products to prevent it from getting to the stores.

I donot find safe meat in USA to eat. I get pancreatitis every time i eat meat in USA but not abroad. That should tell you something.

In Sweden meat is only on counters for 3 days then its thrown out. Everybody checks for expiration dates and even down to milk. Nothing has preservatives and artificial anything so it does not last a long time but its fresher than American meat.
I gues you would have to go to Sweden! lo!

Stick to beans. Tasty, versatile, full of protein and fibre – what more could you ask for?

organic (home-grown, no steroids etc.) anyways, most meat is pretty safe as long as you make sure it is FULLY COOKED before eating it. Stay away from pork, that’s just nasty and bad for your heart and arteries etc. Chicken and turkey and some beef is good though. If you are really worried, try some fake meat.

It’s safest to choose a diet that doesn’t include meat, or that includes meat only minimally. Meat from Africa is definitely not the answer. The safest meat may be from insects, which can be grown in naturalistic conditions.

MOOSE MEAT…I HAVEN.T HEARD OF MAD MOOSE DESEASE YET.

Natural Beef is probably the safest.
There’s practically no chance of mad cow because they live in the pastures living on only grass for their entire lives, and obviously that means no hormones or injections or anything of the sort.
Consequently, it also means that Natural Beef contains many natural and healthy ingredients that are altered or destroyed by conventional cattle ranching methods.

Pork is kind of dirty and chicken is the least healthy of all of them.

Fish is pretty good, assuming it’s not grouper (Threat of cigateura poisoning), but I think that beef tastes better than fish. So I scarf down steers.

Stir fry lots of veggies, small chucks of pork – the other white meat, Wild jungle food isn’t safe because they are eating things not in our diet and may cause allergies. Besides they are protected

A few years ago strawberries from Mexico distributed to several states were found contaminated with e-coli, Alfalfa sprouts also…Lettuces being imported from Guatemala were found to be “washed” in the same water the farming community used for their toilet!

If you start to eliminate whole groups of food items due to localized outbreaks of illness you will be left with bottled water and maybe soda crackers..and are they really safe?

As long as you are using a reputable market you should be reasonably certain that the meats they are selling are going to be safely consumable. If you can afford organic products you will suffer from less effects of steroids, hormones, etc. but don’t be fooled there either…

All in all it’s just like anything else…a crap shoot. Every time you pull a soda out of the cooler (Whackos with syringes) at the convenience store or a bottle of aspirin from the CVS or a roast from the cooler at Wal-Mart, start your car (Dodge Ram Truck engine fires), buy a cell phone (radiation) the odds are in your favor. But….there are those freak cases where your number comes up…Unless you are prepared to go on a VERY strict diet…just do what we all do…watch the news and avoid those things that from time to time fall out of line and get a good night’s rest…?

I think that you are worrying about the wrong things. Antibiotics and growth hormones in animals are no threat to the humans that eat them. They were going to ban the import of U.S. meat to Europe because of growth hormone until somebody pointed out that you can’t even detect it in a lab. So if it is not even in the meat, how could it hurt you? The unsanitary conditions of the meat packing plants are a bigger threat to your health.

The mercury in fish is unhealthy, but mainly to young children. It is in its highest concentration in big predator fish such as tuna and shark because they eat fish that eat other fish that eat other fish. I think that the USDA website has a table. Farm raised fish should be safe except that they feed dioxin to salmon. (It varies by country)

With the way that the beef industry is blocking the testing of cattle for mad cow disease, I think that we can assume that U.S. cattle are full of it. It couldn’t be as bad as it was in Britain where 400,000 cattle had it. Considering all the millions of people who ate the contaminated beef it must be really hard to catch it because only 170 people in the whole world have had it. So it’s not really something that you have to worry about either.

The wild elk in North America have something called chronic wasting disease that is similar to mad cow. Deer may have it too.

I think that you are advocating eating something called “bush meat.” Thaty is the worst thing that you could do. Scientists are afraid that the next AIDS epidemic is going to come from people preparing or eating bush meat. We have no idea what diseases those wild animals have. One of them could jump the species barrier and we would have no defense against it. People have gone to Africa and Asia to try to stop trafficing in bush meat because it could start the next great epidemic.
